Green Policy

At SHD Medical we are dedicated to minimising our environmental impact and promoting sustainable practices wherever possible.  Our commitment to green initiatives extends across all aspects of our operations from stock supply to delivery. Here's how we're making a difference:

• We use recyclable or biodegradable packaging materials where possible.
• We prioritise the reuse of any undamaged packaging materials and boxes wherever possible.  Where packaging cannot be reused, we will actively recycle if applicable.  This applies to all materials used across our operations, from packaging to office supplies. 
• By implementing comprehensive recycling procedures, we aim to reduce waste and conserve resources.
• We aim to ship in larger quantities in order to avoid excess deliveries.

Our primary courier and delivery service is Royal Mail who are a popular choice due to being the UK’s greenest delivery option for letters and parcels. The Royal Mail implement this by:

• Having the UK’s largest commercial fleet of 100% electric vans (around 5,000).
• Deploying millions of litres of biofuels in our fleet of heavier trucks.
• Purchasing 99% renewable electricity across our entire estate.
• Reducing use of domestic air transport.
• Committing to becoming Net-Zero by 2040 by decarbonising their operations and their supply chain.
