Swanson Folic Acid - 800mcg - 250 Capsules
Folic Acid is vitally important for a healthy heart. It works by neutralising homocysteine levels and plays an important role in supporting prenatal and postnatal health and cell regeneration.
Part of the B vitamin family, Folic Acid is most well known as a significant component in a woman's diet during pregnancy as it helps to protect against birth defects. But folic acid is also essential in any body function involving cell multiplication in both men and women.
Whilst it occurs naturally in many foods such as green vegetables especially spinach, beans, whole grains, fortified cereals and orange juice, the body is unable to store Folic Acid for any length of time, so continued replenishment is necessary to ensure that the body absorbs this essential nutrient in an optimal and continuous manner.
Worldwide, health agencies are proposing that women receive a daily intake of 400 micrograms of folic acid while attempting to conceive and continue to take this dosage for at least the first 12 weeks of pregnancy as the baby's spine develops.
Not only can folic acid be important for expectant mothers, this vitamin has a number of roles to play in the body including:
Dosage:As a dietary supplement, take one capsule per day with water.
Other ingredients: Rice flour, gelatin, calcium palmitate.
Keep all supplements out of sight and reach of young children. Do not exceed the stated recommended intake.
Not suitable for vegetarians.
